LockDown Musical Interlude--ESPECIALLY WONDERFUL SONGS: April Day 9, 2020

This is part two of my offering yesterday, a Broadway revival in honor of Stephen Sondheim's birthday.  With this, too, the visuals count, so this is to watch as well as to hear.  Yesterday, I talked about Patti LuPone singing a song that was normally associated with Elaine Stretch.  Well now we have the song that Elaine Stritch sang for this show.  The song is originally from Sondheim's musical, Follies.  It somehow seems appropriate to our situation currently.  It's maybe relevant to all human life in every era.

Elaine really builds this up and it is wonderful.  The audience loves it.  And one of the things I love about this video is how much the singers sitting behind her love it, too.  They all enjoy and appreciate each other, and at the end you can see how Elaine loves them.  This is for all survivors...like you.

9.  Song name:  I’m Still Here (Video)
Artist:  Elaine Stritch
Lyrics and Music by Stephen Sondheim
