LockDown Musical Interlude--ESPECIALLY WONDERFUL SONGS: April Day 2, 2020

2.  Song:  “That Sunday, That Summer”
Artist:  Natalie Cole
Song Writers: George David Weiss and Joe Sherman
Arranger:  Johnny Mandel

Now doesn’t her beautiful golden voice pick you up and cradle you in the palms of her loving hands?
This song is a very famous Nat King Cole song and his version is wonderful.  But it was his daughter’s version that gave me one of those “stop and absorb” moments, and this was even with all the other great songs on the same album, the famous Unforgettable album in which Natalie Cole is singing the song, “Unforgettable”, thanks to modern technology, as a duet along with her father’s version which had been recorded a generation ago.  So there are several gems on this special album, but still, this one is an ESPECIALLY WONDERFUL SONG.  It started with a smile, she saw this man, and all nature burst forth into summer. “Go on and kiss him” was nature’s perfect advice!
